A Marsh

This painting is a composition that recreates the vivid dynamics of colour, I witnessed on location at Kalamalka Lake on the cycling and hiking trail. This trail is a section of the Okanagan Rail Trail from Kelowna to Vernon, along Okanagan Lake, Woods Lake, Duck Lake, and then the colourful Kalamalka Lake. The trail itself is the centre of interest in this painting and is surrounded by the richly coloured red rock formation, with the surrounding sky in bright diagonal streaks of colour, while the tall young sapling provides a natural frame for the trail along the lake. I wish to send an immediate message to the viewer that this new Okanagan Rail Trail is an exciting, cycling adventure.
