A Marsh

This fresh water marsh in the Okanagan Valley near Okanagan Lake is a beautiful, peaceful, natural Wetland. It is an endangered habitat. This marsh holds water that supports all, or a portion of an animal’s life cycle, and is an important stop over for migratory birds. The marsh is surrounded by a buffer zone consisting of grasses, shrubs, and trees, with an emphasis here on the pussy willows. These marshes harbour many songbirds through the summer months, especially the red wing blackbirds. As a landscape artist, I celebrate nature through a bold use of colour, an appreciation of light, and an emphasis on mood. I like to combine my distinctive style of art with a sincere affection and respect for the wonders of our natural ecosystem.
