Gladstone Trail, Okanagan Lake Vista
This painting of the beautiful Gladstone trail near Peachland, British Columbia, includes switchbacks that take you up to a majestic panoramic view of Okanagan Lake and Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park. There is a rare four hundred year old Ponderosa Pine tree, as well as many firs. The snag tree, or cavity tree, which biologists now refer to as a standing dead tree, is in recognition of the many birds, and other creatures that I have seen that use this tree as a place to perch. This landscape composition was meant to capture the beauty of nature’s Okanagan valley, lake, forest, and mountains, as an escape from man made structures. As an artist I approach my subject with sensitive observation, and a deep love of nature.
