This painting was inspired by a hike in September along the KVR Trail along the scenic north south trail from Penticton to Okanagan Falls. Since this is a flat smooth section of trail along the west side of Skaha Lake, it is popular all year long with cyclists and hikers. There are several little secluded spots where one can stop, and have a picnic or a swim in the summer. Since this painting was started in the fall, it was exciting to choose the different cadmium reds, and crimsons to paint the small sumac trees.
