Skaha Memories

The beautiful surrounding landscape of ponderosa pines, fir trees, and sage and grasses inspired me to paint Skaha Lake at the end of the summer. This Lake is situated south of Penticton, and north of Okanagan Falls in the sunny Okanagan. The rays of sunshine in the late afternoon, create the bright white light on the lake that highlight the contrast between the Okangan mountain slopes, which are partially in shade on the west side of Skaha Lake. As an artist, I enjoy using an underpainting of warm colours to draw attention to the mystery and magic of the Lake at this time of year.
